This brother has continually shown that he has a strong work ethic and for that it is once again time to congratulate him on all of the hard work he has done for the chapter. That individual is Bryan Ash. It is his junior year here at CSU and already he has established himself as one of the most involved brother’s within Ohio Nu. This is his second semester as Vice President of Recruitment and he has made it his mission to one up himself from the last BMS event that he did back in the spring semester. In order to get as many applicants as possible, Bryan started a huge advertising campaign for the balanced man scholarship where he along with the exec board and his recruitment committee started to post the application for the scholarship on both their social media pages and the chapter’s social media page. By doing it this way, they sent the application to incoming freshmen who were interested enough to apply for it. As the new academic year approached, Bryan wasted no time in advertising the scholarship through freshman events such as dorm move-ins, MagnusFest, and even in the hallways of the school buildings themselves.
After the campaign, he along with his BMS Interview Committee interviewed all of the applicants that were on the list. Once that was completed Bryan sat down with BMS Chair Ben Hubbard to “grade” all of the applicants based off of a set of guidelines that were used to measure the finalists; this of course was based on their previous and current academic and leadership successes which appealed to SigEp’s three most important ideals that consist of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love.
Bryan then hosted Ohio Nu’s BMS week that had three events laid throughout the week. The first event focused on Sound Mind where he had Regional Director Carlos Gomez talk to brothers about mental well being, academics, and professionalism. Meanwhile, the second event was a meet and greet where brothers along with the finalists interacted with one another by networking and playing yard games. Finally, the third event focused around Sound Body where brothers played touch football and ultimate frisbee with finalists. Bryan has once again ensured the success of this BMS event as he has recruited many amazing individuals that Ohio Nu has ever seen which is a wonderful feat to be proud of. The Fall 2021 BMS Banquet starts later today at 7:00 PM in the student center. Thank you Bryan for putting in the effort and displaying the amount of hard work that goes into planning out all of these events.
