It is a great time to be a SigEp here at the Ohio Nu chapter as brothers are making the effort to come in huge numbers to help out at Gigi’s Playhouse in any way they can. Gigi’s Playhouse is a non-profit organization that “seeks to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to see a world where individuals with Down syndrome are accepted and are embraced by their families, schools, and communities”. Also, Gigi’s “changes lives through providing free educational, therapeutic-based, and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and community, through a replicable playhouse model” – Gigi’s Playhouse. SigEp has been helping this organization through various activities such as fundraising, maintenance, cleaning work, etc. This helps in strengthening the core values of SigEp into many brothers which include Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love; it also allows them to transition into becoming balanced men. For the final day of the semester, over ten brothers attended to help clean and straighten up the building located in Lakewood, Ohio. All of us here at Ohio Nu are honored to be able to work with Gigi’s as they inspire us to always strive to be better people at the end of the day when all is said and done.
