During the weekend of February 14th to the 16th, thirteen brothers attended the year’s Carlson in Chicago. While there, they got to stay at the luxurious Westin Hotel, which included meals and snacks throughout the day. Out of the thirteen brothers, seven are the newly elected Executive Board; President Hunter Kiper, VP of Programming Jordyn Wheaton, VP of Finance Anthony DiSabato, VP of Member Development Zander Saunders, VP of Communications Juan Munoz, and Chaplain John Seifert. Joining them on the journey includes Phillip Baker, Martin Barnard, Oliver Ellis, Stanley Jenovic, Karim Nasrellin, and Brian Roote. Our alumni Bill Schutte was in attendance with the brothers as well. This is a new record in attendance to CLA from the OhioNu chapter.
At Carlson, each brother was exposed to different seminars filled with brothers and executive board members from different Midwest chapters. Each seminar was ran by highly successful SigEp alumni that each have vasts pockets of knowledge concerning the topics being discussed. This allowed for interactions to network and find solutions to any lingering questions. Specifically, board members had to dwell deep into their positions to understand it at its most basic breakdown.
The best part is for last. Our chapter got honored with the Excelsior Award for Significant Improvement in Standards and Accountability; this marks a trophy each year since 2014 for OhioNu!
