At this week’s past chapter meeting, the brothers attained a goal that had never been done before. With the assistance of chapter alumni Dave Huiett, Cleveland State ’66, and Bill Schutte, Cleveland State ’71, Ohio Nu had the distinguished honor of welcoming CSU President Harlan Sands in person. To remain safe, all COVID precautions were taken.
President Sands went around the room to meet the brothers one on one to discuss before his presentation. Since not every brother could make it out, there was also a Zoom session going on, so that they could still attend the event. The whole chapter was buzzing going in towards the event.
For his presentation, President Sands gave the chapter a bigger glimpse at the CSU 2.0 project that is going into motion in the coming semester. With many parts of the world, and the university, affected by COVID-19, this CSU 2.0 would account for that with the necessary procedures to continue delivering the absolute best the university has to offer. He went on to explain how the goal is to make the environment better for the student body overall.
The chapter then had the opportunity to ask President Sands questions, from commencement to whatever the mind can come up with. Both the in person brothers and the virtual brothers chimed in with many good questions. One of the big points is how the chapter as a whole can help President Sands, and CSU, progress forward in the vision they have set out moving forward. With this visit, the chapter feels more enlightened and looks forward to the next time that President Sands can be a part of an event, and a huge thanks goes out to him for taking the times to visit us.
