Like his Big Tim Kuhn, Jaret Steiber is also a graduating with a nursing major. Before moving on, we have to thank Jaret for combating COVID-19 while quarantine has been raging on. Jaret joined Ohio Nu back in Fall 2017 thanks to Tim’s advice. For a busy nurse major, lots of brothers have highly pleasant memories with Jaret. Whether it be his wacky advice to new brothers or intramural highlights, there will always be word of Jaret’s Ohio Nu time. He achieved much in his time here, too. Jaret served on the Communications committee, Standards Board, and Ritual Team. He also feels very grateful to SigEp as a whole; he went on to say, “SigEp has helped me to become more of a leader and confident in myself. I feel more confident when I make decisions and speak up about things I don’t feel safe or comfortable with.”

Jaret’s favorite memory from Ohio Nu was waiting with other brothers for their turn. He went on to say, “sitting at ritual 3 – 4 hours watching YouTube videos with the brothers while we waited our turn to go through the ritual… it’s always the little things that make the best memories.” Regarding memories, what Jaret will miss the most is spending time with brothers. He is quoted as saying that one rarely gets the opportunity to be surrounded around such hard workers and fun guys. The best advice Jaret has for all brothers is to enjoy all the little things. Since his time was mostly occupated with work and study, he cherishes the camping trip he went on during his first year; “I didn’t know it at the time but that was one of my favorite memories with the brothers and I would love to take that memory and enjoy it one more time!”

Jaret’s future plans are aimed high. He is going to work 2 to 3 years as a floor nurse before either going back to school to get his Masters or move to the ICU and work 5 years there to apply later on for a life flight nurse. Everyone here at Ohio Nu knows Jaret will be successful in the medical field. He will be missed, but we are glad that he will be helping save lives along with his Big Tim.
